Prostitution and Society – A Conversation

Vihaan:
I saw some infographic that said in Rajasthan, there's a rape every 90 minutes, and hundreds of thousands of cases go unreported. Why does this happen?
I think it's because men are kept in this environment where sex and interactions between men and women are taboo, which builds up frustration.
But on the other hand, there's also the treatment of women by pimps or handlers.

Sushant:
Just because it ain't legal doesn't mean it's not happening already.
And imagine the treatment when it is illegal.

Countries like the Netherlands have legalized prostitution and drugs—and they seem to be doing just fine, maybe even better than us.
So why can't it be legal here too? Especially in a country like ours where it could actually act as a vent in this conservative culture.

Nishant:
If prostitution becomes legal, some (if not all) cases might be mitigated.
Also, the government could have better tracking and control.

On Porn and Platforms

Sushant:
Now let's talk about porn (pun definitely intended).
It's also illegal, with most major sites banned (I've personally checked 😅).

Why porn though?
Everything related to sex is either illegal, banned, or taboo—and they want to keep it that way.

Then came OnlyFans, which gave a platform—unknowingly—to indie porn creators with more control, more money, and more ease.

So let me ask you:
Should women be doing this?

Nishant:
It's their choice.

Vihaan:
Yeah, their choice.

Sushant:
What if it's someone you know?

Nishant:
In our society, they are seen as "characterless" or looked down upon.
But it's still their choice.

Vihaan:
Same. It's their choice.
We shouldn't judge their personality based on that. Everyone does it—the difference is, they're just doing it in front of a camera.

The Spicy Part

Sushant:
Alright, now the spicy part.
What if your daughter wants to do it—say, OnlyFans?

Nishant:
No, I wouldn't allow it.

Sushant:
Why?

Nishant:
Because of how society would see it—and myself.
I wouldn't prefer it.

Vihaan:
No.

Sushant:
Same for me.
I'd look into the reason behind this choice—is it about money or something else?
I'd try to solve that root problem rather than support the decision directly.

Sure, there are other options for money.
But if you were born to do this, like this is your thing… then… idk lol.

That being said, if you're in this industry, it wouldn't make you any lesser in my eyes.
